9) The Barnstormer
This one speaks for itself. It is a short kiddie coaster with nothing special to offer, therefore it gets the last place spot.
8) Slinky Dog Dash
The ride itself is okay. It is a decently long ride, it's smooth, has decent theming, and has comfortable restraints. With that being said, this ride has absolutely no forces and no thrill factor to it. Adding onto that, this coaster is notorious for getting atrocious wait times, and it doesn't help that this ride's entire queue is outdoors, which can cause a terrible experience in line.
7) Seven Dwarfs Mine Train
This is also an okay ride. It is very smooth but is a shorter coaster than Slinky. However, the theming is far better, including more landscaping and terrain work as well as a fun dark ride section featuring multiple animatronics. It is also mostly forceless, but you can get some mild floater airtime on the ride's main drop in the back rows. Lastly, this ride also gets high wait times, but they are more manageable than Slinky's and the queue offers far more shade.
6) Big Thunder Mountain Railroad
At this point I am getting to the good rides. Just because I put Big Thunder at 6 doesn't mean I don't like it because I always have a blast on it. It is a little rough but the seats are cushioned so it isn't a painful experience. There are a handful of solid airtime moments on this ride, and it just looks fantastic. Disney really went all-out with the rockwork and it makes for one of the best looking rides in the entire resort. Lastly, the wait times are usually very manageable, making this a must-ride every time I visit the Magic Kingdom.
5) Rock 'n' Roller Coaster
For Disney World's attempt on a major thrill coaster, this isn't bad. There aren't a lot of highlights in terms of the theming, but the coaster itself gets the job done. The first launch is the best launch in all of Florida in my opinion. It is incredibly intense and the suspense leading up to it is great as you're sitting looking into a pitch black tunnel. After that, you'll go through a layout that traverses multiple inversions as Aerosmith blasts in your ears. As for complaints, the ride is a little shaky and can get long waits, but that hasn't really been a problem for me as I usually use the single rider line.
4) Expedition Everest
This ride does so many things amazingly. To start off, this might be the most detailed coaster at the resort, ranging from the queue full of Himalayan artifacts to the entire man-made mountain with the massive yeti figure inside. The coaster is surprisingly forceful but it is rough, which takes away a lot because it can cause headaches if you ride it more than once. As for the queue, the wait times are usually never bad and there is a single rider line which is almost always a walk-on.
3) TRON Lightcycle Run
This ride is a spectacle. Unlike Everest, which mostly consists of detailed set pieces, this coaster's theming is very sleek and simple, but it works. It provides an incredibly smooth ride experience with some forceful moments thrown in there. The ride feels cinematic, with an absolute banger of an on ride soundtrack and many lighting effects that sync with the ride vehicles. My only true complaint about this ride is that the queue is pretty bland and moves very slowly. It becomes an even worse problem when the line extends outside of the canopy and into the hot Florida sun. I know many people complain about the length of the ride, but as someone who's ridden many coasters at other parks, the length is one of my lesser concerns.
2) Space Mountain
For a coaster that only goes 27 miles per hour, it is insane what it manages to pull off, and I'm surprised that more coaster enthusiasts don't talk about it. The ejector airtime on this ride is INSANE, and I would argue that it can be placed up there with the likes of Magnum XL-200 at Cedar Point. The darkness almost makes it scary, not knowing when you're gonna fly out of your seat. It is a little janky, but it runs very well for a coaster built almost 50 years ago. The wait times can get a little long but the entire queue is indoor and well air conditioned.
1) Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind
Probably the greatest coaster that Disney has built in any of their parks, period. It's perfect. The ride system is revolutionary, it is smooth, it has forces, and provides a very long ride experience. In fact, it is actually one of the longest steel coasters in America. As for the queue, it is all indoors and has great theming. Also, the ability to get one of six songs allows for a feeling of suspense with every ride, knowing it will always be different. Disney truly hit it out of the ballpark with this ride.
